It Doesn't Get Any Easier

You would not think that one child going back to school would cause such a whirl of activity in a home.  The previous week has been one of clothes shopping, trips to the eye doctor, shoe shopping, planning and trying on the back to school wardrobe, a trip to the hair salon, painting finger nails and toe nails, all ending with open house last night and the first day of school today.  One would think that after preschool, Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade, the first day of 3rd grade would be easier on a Mom, but it hasn't gotten any easier for me.  It's very hard to send my little girl out into this world alone.  But she goes to a good school that she loves and she has an awesome teacher again this year.  I know she will be ok, but it's still hard.  Even though it is hard, I am happy and excited for her.  She has reached yet another milestone in her life with many more to come.  Her childhood is going by way to fast, yet that is how it must be.  I can't nor do I want to hold her back.  She has her own life to live, so she can't be my baby forever (she will always be my baby, but you know what I mean).  I can't imagine what it will be like sending her off to college!  Thank goodness I have a few years before I have to worry about that though!  :)

Ok, now that I've had my Mommy moment...I'm trying very hard not to feel guilty about slacking on my reading and my blog this week.  I just haven't had the time.

Yes, I'm still trying to get through The Teeth of the Tiger by Tom Clancy.  It's not a bad book, and I like it while I'm reading it.  It's just not a page turner for me...I have to make myself read it.  I find when I feel that way about a book it takes me forever to finish it.  I will finish it though.  Although I don't usually like to read two books at once, I think I'm going to have to make an exception this time.

  3. That is so great! I wanted to check back and see what happened! She is so smart and will have a great year, I am sure! I get excited about back-to-school each year...as if I were going back myself! I love seeing all the freshmen on our campus and thinking about how much will change for them and what lies ahead. It is amazing. I always loved teaching freshmen. Oh, well!

And thanks so much for your excellent and amazing comments to the blog post! I TOTALLY agree! The world frustrates me sometimes...thank goodness for the blog space to vent.

    Have a great day!
