The Second Shelf

The second shelf of my bookshelf is at my eye level, so that's why I chose to put the books here that I did.  I can see them every time I walk by.  I have read or used most of these books, and again I will put an asterisk in front of the titles I've read, used, or listened to.  They are as follows...

    Are you planning on reading The Pilgrim's Progress, too? I am right now, because I am writing a conference paper about pilgrimage in the nineteenth century. The Pilgrim's Progress, of course, was very popular then and influenced lots of pilgrimage stories! I had never read it, and though I am glad I am finally doing it...well, it is really hard to get through, in my opinion. I can only read a little at a time! I am trying my best, but it is a real challenge.

    Susie--I'm planning on reading The Pilgrim's Progress, but after looking through the book, I have to admit that I was a bit intimidated. I knew it was going to be a challenge for me, and I've been waiting for the right time to tackle it. Maybe I'll start it soon, and follow your lead reading a little at a time.
